Lectures of Top Transport 2019

Lecture n°1: Wednesday 16 October: 11:30 am - 12:05 pm

Disputes: what is the compensation about?
When faced with damage to the goods or loss, a first question arises: what will the claim for compensation cover? Selling price? Cost price? Transport included or not? And can we add collateral damage: site or chain stoppage, penalties imposed by the recipient, etc.?
So many questions where the answers are not always the ones you think they are.

Carrier delay: rules and good practices
Road accidents, lost time at the previous customer's premises, traffic jams, poor planning, force majeure: the carrier does not always control time as he would like. Delays in loading, delays in delivery: what are the carrier's levels of liability, the compensation it must pay and good practices in this regard?

Conférence n°3: Thurday 17 October: 3:00 pm - 4:10 pm

Cabotage and secondment: what will change?

On 4 April, the European Parliament adopted several measures amending the rules on the secondment of lorry drivers and the conditions governing the exercise of cabotage.

These measures will affect the way in which foreign carriers will be able to carry out transport operations on national territory. The conditions for using a foreign carrier in a charter operation will be significantly modified. As a result, shippers and forwarders will be confronted with new practices in this area.
